QCIT Group's Response to the Impact of Global Epidemics (I)
2019-2022 QCIT AID and International Cooperation
Continuing...
The global pandemic of COVID-19 has brought great impact to countries all over the world, and also posed a major uncertainty to the global economic and trade relations. In this context, experts from all countries launched an online special edition dialogue, focusing on the prospects of international cooperation and the future of relations among countries in the context of the new epidemic.
QCIT has also experienced this once-in-a-century global public health crisis, but in the past few years, we have successfully helped global customers and friends going through the most difficult time. According to the characteristics of the current situation and the actual situation in the past few years from 2019 to 2022, global coordination and international cooperation have shown five priorities:
1、 Strengthening global cooperation in epidemic prevention and control.
2、 Strengthen international macro policy coordination to curb the sharp decline in the economy.
3、 The international community cooperates to prevent and control financial risks.
4、 The international community cooperates to safeguard global food security.
5、 International cooperation is of special significance in managing the global supply chain and the local contradictions of economic globalization.
QCIT Group believes that it is necessary to strengthen the international community's efforts to combat the epidemic, whether it is to fight against the new crown pandemic, cope with the economic recession, or under the influence of local wars. After years of hard work, the epidemic situation in some countries has been controlled to varying degrees. However, the situation of the spread of NCV around the world has not fundamentally improved. Recently, there are still about 100000 new cases every day in the world. At present, the areas most in need of strengthening international cooperation include accelerating the research and development of safe and effective vaccines and specific drugs, ensuring the supply of high-quality medical and nursing equipment, and especially helping low-income countries that are especially short of resources to obtain the necessary materials. At the ICC epidemic situation meeting, QCIT also stressed that the international community needs to improve the information sharing mechanism of public health and epidemic diseases and enhance transparency, strengthen and improve the operation of the World Health Organization system, and build the necessary global medical material storage system to address the weaknesses exposed by this epidemic situation, so as to enhance the ability to respond to the impact of future epidemics.
Since this February, almost all major economies in the world have introduced measures to stimulate and aid the economy and open the market in various forms and scales. The stimulus and rescue efforts of North America, Europe and other countries have generally exceeded the last response to the financial crisis. Although the scale and composition of national stimulus policies belong to the scope of specific national governments' weighing and choosing. The pandemic in late February and the first half of March had a rare impact on the stock markets of the United States and other major economies. Through the respective interventions and cooperative responses of the major economies, the risks caused by the violent fluctuations in the stock markets above were resolved, but under the impact of the epidemic, some emerging economies and developing countries began to face difficulties such as shrinking exports, falling resource prices, and deteriorating bank asset quality, This has led to an increase in risk, which has become a major concern for the international community to cooperate in preventing and controlling financial risks.
QCIT Group believes that although the direct impact of the epidemic on food and agricultural production is relatively limited, global food security faces special challenges this year. For example, after the outbreak of the epidemic, a few food and food exporting countries temporarily stopped their food and food exports in whole or in part due to various considerations. In case of domino effect, the international food market and food security will be impacted.
QCIT has always insisted on building a better global supply chain system project. The pandemic shows some vulnerability of the global supply chain in a crisis environment: the epidemic has led to a temporary suspension of production activities in one country, which will be immediately transmitted to other countries through the global supply chain; The sudden outbreak of the epidemic has caused a huge short-term supply and demand gap for medical equipment and materials under the impact. This serious short-term shortage coincides with the need to wait for foreign imports of medical equipment and materials, bringing greater anxiety to importing countries.
Therefore, in the current and future of epidemic prevention and control, QCIT Group may implement partial adjustment to the supply chain of related industries, but it is also necessary to prevent unnecessary economic losses and disturbances caused by overshoot. It should be noted that the once-in-a-century impact of the New Crown epidemic has led to a short-term surge of dozens or even hundreds of times of specific medical care resources. Production and supply have been impacted by the epidemic, and it is difficult to immediately release and expand production capacity. Under this special situation, any supply system will have a short-term response lag and serious supply shortage, and self-sufficient production systems are also difficult to avoid.
